A talk that tells the truth and gives people something to do with it

I like what I can do with a room. Give me a subject that matters to the people in it, and I'll find the honest, human way in.

My talks are warm, direct, and often funny. I name what people are already thinking, then make room for the conversation that follows. No pom-poms required.

The power of AND

Two things can be true. You can care deeply AND be tired. Hold high standards AND give grace. Value what came before AND welcome what comes next.

I've brought AND to groups of educators and adapted it for different audiences. It makes space for complicated feelings and offers a practical way forward when the easy answer doesn't fit. Months later, people have told me they're still using it.

Living well by planning well

Yes, I talk about death. I do it because I love living. Thinking honestly about the end of life can make us pay closer attention to the life we're in, the people we love, and the stories we want them to know.

These talks bring humor and humanity to legacy, wishes, remembrance, and conversations families wish they'd had sooner. People leave with room to reflect and a useful next step.

A talk built for your audience

Bring me your theme or the conversation your group has been avoiding. I'll learn the context, ask good questions, and build a talk for the people in your room.

I've spoken to graduating classes, educators, and community leaders through celebration and change. Five years on a Denver metro board of education, including three as president, taught me to lead difficult conversations and pay attention to what a room needs.

Let’s talk about your event

Tell me about your audience and what you want them to carry away. I'll help you find the honest conversation worth having.
